The string bikini is not a suit that can be worn by many people in America or worldwide for that matter, but that does not deter from it becoming more popular and more revealing with each passing year. First introduced in America in 1974, this suit continues to sell and be worn on beaches worldwide, often times by women that have no business wearing such a small and revealing garment. The string bikini is a swimsuit that is comprised of two small triangular shaped pieces of material that are sewn together by a piece of string. The string can be one continuous piece or it can be two pieces that tie together on each side of the hip. How The String Bikini Originated, A Creation Of Desperation The history of the string bikini credits a Brazilian model, Rose de Primo for the actual creation of the suit, claiming that she was hired to model a bikini for a fashion shoot but did not own her own suit. In an effort to win the job, and with no money for which to spend on the purchase of a suit, she set about making her own at home.
